The candidates for lip augmentation are those who desire to have youthful and fuller lips. The lip gradually decreases in volume with aging. As the volume of the lips decreases, the red part of the lip tends to be less prominent.
Lip Augmentation can increase the lip volume or decrease lip length (allows more of red part of lip to show) by making a small incision at the red part of the lip. Fat, fascia or synthetic material is inserted through a small tunnel that is made between incisions. When healing is completed, the incisions are generally not visible.
Lipectomy
Lipectomy refers to procedure that removes fatty tissue and excess skin from the lower to middle portions of the abdomen. The patient recovers and is usually back at work within a few days, with some moderate scarring. Often women who have had multiple pregnancies receive this procedure to make them feel better about themselves.
